Accepts WEBP images · max 25.00 MB

How to use it

  1. 1Drop the WEBP file you need in a more widely accepted format.
  2. 2If the WEBP has transparency, choose the background colour that will replace it — JPG can't keep an alpha channel.
  3. 3Set quality (85 keeps the conversion visually neutral) and convert.
  4. 4Download the JPG. The filename and extension always match the actual encoded format.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I convert away from WEBP?

Compatibility. Some upload forms, older photo editors, print shops and enterprise document systems still reject WEBP. JPG is accepted essentially everywhere.

Will I lose quality going WEBP to JPG?

A little. Both formats are lossy, so you're re-encoding already-compressed data. Quality 85–90 keeps the second pass practically invisible; anything lower compounds the artefacts.

The JPG came out bigger than the WEBP. Is that a bug?

No — it's the expected result of WEBP being the more efficient format. The result panel reports it as 'Larger' rather than pretending you saved space.

Can I convert an animated WEBP?

Only the first frame is decoded and saved. JPG has no animation support, so a single still is the only meaningful output.
