Why is the feed post 1200 × 627 rather than square?
1.91:1 is the ratio LinkedIn uses for link previews and shared images in the desktop feed, so a 1200 × 627 image displays whole instead of being cropped top and bottom.
What gets cut off from a 1584 × 396 banner?
That's the full desktop cover size, but the profile photo sits over the lower left and mobile crops the sides. Keep text and logos in the middle third to be safe.
Should I use Fit for a slide or infographic?
Yes. Crop would trim the edges of a chart. Fit scales the whole thing inside the frame so every label stays visible, at the cost of some empty space.
Which file format is best for LinkedIn?
JPG for photographs and PNG for text-heavy graphics and screenshots, where JPG artefacts around lettering are most noticeable.
