IBPS photo and signature size
IBPS asks candidates for four separate images when applying for PO, Clerk or RRB posts: a photograph, a signature, a left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration. Each one has its own pixel size and its own kilobyte window, and the application module rejects anything outside those windows. How to prepare your IBPS photo and signature
- 1Photograph or scan each item separately on plain white paper in even daylight, keeping the camera square to the page so the edges are not skewed.
- 2Write the declaration by hand in English before you start — in black ink and not in capital letters — because the wording is checked, not just the file size.
- 3Open the tab for the item you are preparing. The resizer is already set to the pixel size IBPS states for that document.
- 4Add your file, run it, and read the measured result: the panel says whether the JPG landed inside the KB window IBPS allows for that document.
- 5Download each of the four files, name them clearly, and upload them in the matching field of the IBPS application module.
Common rejection reasons
- The signature is written in capital letters or in block letters instead of a normal running signature.
- Blue or gel ink is used for the signature or declaration where black ink is asked for.
- The declaration is typed, printed or photographed from a screen instead of being handwritten.
- The photograph is cropped so tightly that the face fills the whole frame, or so loosely that the face is a small part of a 200 x 230 px image.
- The thumb impression is smudged, partly cut off at the edge of the frame, or taken on lined or coloured paper.

How do I reduce photo size to 50kb for IBPS?
Set the photograph to 200 x 230 pixels first, because pixel count drives file size more than anything else. At that size a JPG is usually only a few tens of kilobytes already. The Photo tab here crops to 200 x 230 and then lowers JPG quality step by step until the measured file sits inside the 20-50 KB window, and it shows you the real byte count of the file you download.
What is the IBPS signature size in KB and pixels?
The signature is specified as 140 x 60 pixels and 10-20 KB as a JPG, signed in black ink on white paper and not in capital letters. At 140 x 60 pixels a scanned signature is tiny in data terms, so the usual problem is the opposite of too large: a file well below 10 KB. Scan at a higher resolution and crop tightly around the strokes rather than around a lot of empty paper.
What size is the IBPS handwritten declaration?
800 x 400 pixels at 50-100 KB as a JPG, written by hand in English in black ink and not in capital letters. Photograph the page straight on, crop away the margins so the writing fills the frame, and check after resizing that every word is still readable at 800 x 400 — text degrades under compression sooner than a photograph does.
Do I need a left thumb impression for every IBPS exam?

Why is my IBPS photo rejected at upload?
Most rejections are mechanical rather than aesthetic: the file is outside the stated KB range, it is not a JPG, the dimensions do not match, or the image is so dark that the face cannot be made out. Re-shoot against a plain light background in daylight, then run the file through the Photo tab here so the dimensions and the KB range are both handled in one pass.
Does this tool upload my documents to IBPS or anywhere else?
No. Your photo, signature, thumb impression and declaration are decoded, cropped and re-encoded by your own browser using the Canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored, and closing the tab discards everything. You still have to upload the finished files yourself in the official IBPS application module.
