The NTA information bulletin states 10-200 KB in JPG for the passport photograph, the postcard photograph and the thumb impressions, and 4-30 KB for the signature. Those are file size windows, not dimensions. Because published sources disagree about the pixel dimensions, this page does not print them — take them from the bulletin for your own session.

Scan or photograph your signature on white paper, open the Signature tab above, and compress it into the 4-30 KB window. A signature is mostly white space, so JPG compresses it heavily and the common failure is falling below the 4 KB floor. If that happens, scan at a higher resolution or crop less tightly, then compress again and check the measured size.

The frequent causes are a background that is not white, a face that occupies much less than about 80% of the frame, ears that are not visible, a photograph taken before 1 January 2026, or a file outside the 10-200 KB range. Fix the photograph itself first — no resizing tool can add a white background or reveal hidden ears.

The bulletin gives the postcard photograph as 4 x 6 inches at 10-200 KB in JPG. Inches describe a print, not a pixel count, so the Postcard tab above lets you enter the DPI you want to work at and converts 4 x 6 inches into pixels using your number rather than assuming one for you.

The upload itself is a JPG, so the portal ultimately works in pixels, but the bulletin describes the postcard photograph in inches. For the passport photograph, the signature and the thumb impressions the dimensions are not confirmed here at all, which is why those rows read "Check the official notification" instead of showing a number.
